3M™ Polyester Film Electrical Tape 56 is a general purpose polyester tape with thermosetting rubber adhesive.

3M™ Polyester Film Electrical Tape 56 is designed for insulating applications requiring high dielectric strength with a thin, durable film backing. It has a thermosetting rubber adhesive and a low-adhesion backsize coating suitable for automatic taping. After heat curing, the adhesive resists common industrial varnish solvents. Typical applications include coil outer wrap, inner-layer insulation, capacitor wrap and other holding applications, including adhesion to oily magnet wire.
