Nomex® 411 Aramid Paper

Nomex® 411 is the uncalendered precursor of Nomex® 410. With a density of 0.3 it offers high bulk and conformability, and is available in five thicknesses from 0.13 mm to 0.58 mm (5 mil to 23 mil).

Nomex® 411 is used where high bulk and conformability are of prime importance, such as motor phase insulation and transformer coil end filler. Compared with Nomex® 410 it offers increased impregnability and saturability — up to 40% higher with hand-dipped varnish and up to 200% higher under vacuum-pressure impregnation — making it suitable for cast resin applications as turn and layer insulation.

Nomex® 411 is identical in chemical composition to Nomex® 410 and shares its compatibility with electrical varnishes and adhesives, transformer fluids, lubricating oils and refrigerants. It is recognized as a 220 °C insulating material, with electrical, mechanical and thermal ageing behaviour corresponding to that of Nomex® 410.

Nomex® is a registered trademark of Arclin.
