Presssite™

Presssite™ is a composite made from layers of electrical laminate impregnated with epoxy resin and pressed until the resin is fully cured.

The resulting rigid laminate has elastic and flexible characteristics, good mechanical and physical properties, and a low abrasion coefficient. It can be used for electrical insulation components, including punched pieces, slot closure wedges, spacer strips, and round, square or rectangular tubes and cylinders. Material up to 1.5 mm thick can be folded by hand without wrinkles or cracks, and its flexibility and moldability also allow special shapes for electrical equipment.

Presssite™ is supplied in standard sheets of 1000 mm × 2000 mm; punched pieces can also be supplied to customer designs. Density is 1.35 g/cm³ ± 5 %, water absorption is below 0.6 % by weight (24 hours in water at 25 °C), the melting point is approx. 260 °C and the thermal class is F (155 °C). Shelf life is 12 months in light proof packaging with no air contact. Presssite™ is a trademark of MaterialPartner Technische Werkstoffe GmbH.
